Building Hope in Springfield
Since 1988, Habitat Springfield has counted on donations, time, and even a little sweat from Springfield residents who share our vision and dedication to provide decent, affordable housing to all people in Greene County, MO. Because of all your help and generosity, weʼve been able to build homes and hope for nearly 500 men, women and children in the Springfield area.
And weʼre just getting started!
McAL Subdivision
In 2006, Habitat Springfield completed the Model Community for Affordable Living (McAL) subdivision—a 51-house neighborhood built using State CDBG and Federal HUD/SHOP grant funds for infrastructure, along with financial donations and volunteered time and work from Springfield community members.
Legacy Trails
Habitat Springfield and our volunteers and donors continued building better lives in Greene County when, in March 2006, we broke ground on Legacy Trails—a planned community north of Springfield. This 18-acre development will provide up to 55 more homes for deserving families in the Springfield area. By the end of 2006, three Habitat homeowners had moved into their Legacy Trails homes, and five other homes were already under construction. Phase 1 of Legacy Trails was concluded in 2009 with 24 families living in the community.
Project ReHabitat
Currently, Habitat Springfield is helping build better lives and revitalizing center-city through Project ReHabitat. We need your help!
Giving property that needs renovation or deconstruction to the Project ReHabitat donation program lets you offer hope and affordable housing to struggling families while supporting rebuilding efforts throughout center-city Springfield and other Greene County communities. Your donation is life-changing for the local families who need it most, and itʼs tax deductible for you.
Get involved. Itʼs a win-win thatʼs truly making a difference in your community.
