Who does the work?
Habitat for Humanity Springfield volunteers come to your house to do the work with the guidance of a Habitat construction manager or staff.
Do I have to own the home?
Yes, you must own the home.
How long does an "A Brush With Kindness" project take?
There is a slight application process, which takes a little time. Depending on the size and scope of work it can either be done in one day or in a week at the longest.
Do I need to be home during this process?
Yes, all homeowners must be present during the workday(s) to ensure work is being done correctly and for liability issues.
Does "A Brush with Kindness" cost the homeowner anything?
Yes, the applicant is required to purchase the materials. However, they may finance a 0% interest, no profit loan through Habitat for Humanity.
Why has Habitat for Humanity Springfield started this program?
Habitat for Humanity realizes there are homeowners in the Greene County area which can benefit from more outreach. We believe this is another way to help revitalize neighborhoods, lives of homeowners, and lives of volunteers.
