Habitat for Humanity of Springfield is looking forward to the Ozarks’ largest single-day volunteer event!
The annual United Way Day of Caring is coming up soon! The day-long volunteer event is an opportunity for organizations and businesses to build camaraderie and cooperation among their employees while giving back to the community in a meaningful way. Businesses and organizations each commit to sending a group of employees who will provide volunteer labor to other participating organizations.
This year’s United Way Day of Caring is set for August 19, and as a United Way member agency, Habitat Springfield is looking forward to working with community volunteers on our Day of Caring projects.
Volunteers from AWG, Greene County Resource Management and Federal Express will work to spruce up the Habitat ReStore and the Legacy Trails community. Volunteers will also work to build a playhouse or shed to be auctioned at Habitat Springfield’s annual Tool Belts and Bow Ties event in November.
The work completed during the Day of Caring truly helps Habitat Springfield continue working toward our mission to eliminate poverty housing in Greene County. If you’re unable to give during the Day of Caring but want to help us in our mission, we have many opportunities for volunteers. If you prefer, donations of money and building materials are equally appreciated and needed.
