SPRINGFIELD, MO, Aug. 4, 2010 — one80one digital creative agency and Habitat for Humanity of Springfield are excited to announce the official launch of www.habitatspringfieldmo.org. The organization will unveil its new website at the one80one offices during First Friday Art Walk this week.
one80one’s team of designers, writers and developers worked with Habitat Springfield to create an updated and fully customized website and content management system for the nonprofit organization. The new site features online donation capabilities and an interactive newsroom as well as updated and in-depth information on how the community can get involved with Habitat Springfield.
“As a company, we really believe in the work Habitat does, and we wanted to do something major to help them reach their goals. We worked closely with Habitat Springfield leaders to create a website that will meet their current and future needs, and we’re really proud of the end result,” says one80one COO Jeremy Adams.
Habitat Springfield is a nonprofit organization that thrives only through donations of time, money and materials from the community. one80one donated the time and resources needed to complete the design and development of Habitat Springfield’s new site. Adams says, “We decided to team up with Habitat because we recognize that we’re in a position to make a positive impact in Springfield, and we want to take every opportunity to be involved in community improvement.”
Habitat Springfield is an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. As such, the task of redesigning the local website required a custom design that met Habitat International’s brand standards while establishing logical architecture and easy navigability.
“We worked with the standards provided by Habitat International to create a site design that reflected the organization’s established brand. We also restructured the site architecture and navigation, logically leading users to the site’s most important pages for a better, more interactive user experience and to help people quickly make donations and volunteer, ” says one80one Creative Director Jarad Johnson.
To further strengthen the organization’s online presence, one80one’s team of writers worked to create engaging content for the site that reflects Habitat Springfield’s brand and mission. The team also optimized the content for search engines, helping the new site gain and maintain high placement in search results.
“Writing SEO-ready content for the new site helps the organization land at the top of search results when people look for its services, but the real key is writing content that resonates with the Springfield audience. After all, our ultimate goal is to urge our friends and neighbors to jump in and get involved with Habitat Springfield,” says one80one Writing Director Joe Donohue.
Strong design and writing will help Habitat Springfield provide a fulfilling online experience for users. Since fresh content is crucial for keeping return users engaged, one80one developers also built a custom content management system (CMS)—complete with an interactive newsroom and calendar—that lets Habitat Springfield leaders easily maintain and update the site as needed, giving users the current information they need about upcoming events and newsworthy items.
On Friday August 6, 2010, the one80one team will launch the new website and see 5 months of hard work pay off. Habitat Springfield will host a celebration event at the one80one offices at 318 W. Walnut in downtown Springfield beginning at 6 p.m.
Members of the community are invited to share in the celebration and enjoy the music of Hannah Sheehan. Appetizers and drinks will be provided. The event will take place as a part of the monthly First Friday Art Walk, for more information contact one80one or Habitat Springfield.
