"Hammering for the Holidays"... A Success!

Habitat for Humanity Staff and families would like to thank everyone involved in our end of the year volunteer push to build 3 homes for 3 wonderful families. On December 22nd, 2011 Habitat for Humanity and Community Partners came together to dedicate three homes for three amazing families. The families were Liz Carpenter and her four children, Sarah and James Barnett and their six children, and Diana Archer and Estella Dudzik. Even though the temperatures lowered and a breeze came through, the warmth of the generosity and hardwork of so many prevailed and the three families are now in the process of moving into their very own homes. We would like to congratulate the Carpenters, Barnetts, and Diana and Estella!

Construction Volunteer

Habitat for Humanity offers one of the best ways to either hone your skills in construction or gain new skills! With each new Habitat for Humanity home there are many different opportunities to lend a hand. You can help with cabinets, doors & windows, drywall, framing, insulation, landscaping & sod, painting, roofing, site clean-up, tiling, trim & carpentry, and siding. Think you know how to help? No problem! We'll teach you, and we'll be there every step of the way. We strive to make your volunteer experience the best it can be. We offer special opportunities for skilled volunteers and guidance for beginners.

WHY volunteer with Habitat for Humanity? Our Mission Statement speaks for itself! With our Habitat for Humanity of Springfield you will be able to Change People's Lives, learn and hone construction skills, meet new people, and enjoy the outdoors.
