Faith Relations

Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry answering the call of the gospel to respond to our neighbors in need. Our belief is that all people should have a safe, decent place in which to live. We invite people of all faiths to join our mission to build and renovate simple, decent, affordable houses. Our mission is about tearing down walls and building bridges. It is about offering hope and transforming lives. It is about serving God by serving others.

How Can the Church be involved?

Habitat for Humanity Springfield has many opportunities for the church to be involved in showing God's LOVE with works outside of the church's four walls. Habitat for Humanity is a great and unique opportunity for people to experience their FAITH in new and exciting ways. Participating in Habitat projects can (but not limited to): help build relationships within the congregation, help the church to fulfill its mission to minister to those in need, attract new membership, enable individuals to experience spiritual growth, and much more. Building on Faith, What is it?

James 2:14-17 shows us Faith needs action to be active and real and Building on Faith is that action. Once a year Habitat for Humanity partners with the faith community to build a home on the belief HE will provide gracious donations of time, materials, labor, and funds through individuals, churches, and faith organizations.
