Items Typically Accepted for Donation at the Habitat Springfield ReStore

All Items Subject to Approval by Habitat ReStore staff

 

Appliances

  • Must be working
  • Some televisions accepted
  • NO computer monitors

Bathroom

  • Toilets - must be functional
  • Fiberglass showers and tubs
  • Metal or cast iron bathtubs
  • NO shower doors unless new

Brick

  • New brick
  • New or used landscape masonry products

Cabinets

  • Kitchen
  • Bathroom
  • Subject to approval upon inspection

Ceiling Fans

  • Must be in working condition
  • May be unassembled

Carpet

  • Prefer new
  • Prefer NO padding
  • Will take used if less than 5 years old and is in very good condition
  • NO carpet from rentals

Doors

  • Interior & Exterior - no holes, good quality only
  • Storm doors in excellent condition only
  • Sliding glass or French doors that are NOT broken or fogged glass

Drywall/Sheetrock

  • 1/2 sheets or more only
  • All thicknesses

Electrical Fixtures

  • Switches
  • Breakers
  • Breaker boxes
  • Receptacles

Furniture

  • Wood or similar
  • Upholstered items in good condition
  • Couches, loveseats, sofas
  • Dining room
  • Bedroom sets - NO mattresses accepted
  • Lawn furniture

Glass

  • NOT from individuals unless it is part of set (i.e. glass top table)

Hardware

  • Bolts, nuts, screws, nails
  • Handles, pulls, latches

Household items

  • Dishes
  • Containers (totes, baskets, trunks, wooden crates)
  • Framed art and paintings
  • Pianos and other musical instruments
  • Toyboxes
  • Doghouses

Lawn & Garden

  • Mowers & Trimmers - must be in working condition
  • Rakes, shovels, sledge hammers, etc
  • Wheelbarrows, wagons, leaf bags
  • Hoses & hose caddy's
  • Outdoor lawn furniture
  • Landscaping tools accepted also

Light Fixtures

  • Ceiling fans - must be in working condition
  • Lamps - floor or table
  • Exterior lighting

Lumber

  • This includes dimensional lumber & sheet material such as plywood and paneling
  • Must be 4 ft or greater in length
  • Must be nail/screw free
  • No water damaged materials accepted

Paint and Stain

  • Commercial donations preferred
  • NO acrylic accepted from individuals - ONLY latex
  • Unopened stain only

Plumbing Fixtures

  • PVC
  • Faucets - new or used
  • Copper pipe - for scrap weight
  • Metal piping - for scrap weight

Roofing

  • Shingles
  • Roofing paper
  • Decking
  • Must be unopened & in original package, otherwise subject to approval by HFH staff

Shelving

  • Metal shop
  • Wooden
  • Industrial
  • Closet

Siding

  • Metal siding accepted for scrap
  • Vinyl only in good condition
  • NO asbestos siding accepted

Sinks

  • Bathroom & kitchen
  • Laundry sinks
  • Washtubs

Tile

  • New tile ONLY accepted
  • Bathroom wall
  • Backsplash
  • Floor

Tools

  • Yard tools, shop tools, brooms, etc.
  • Power tools
  • Woodworking items

Windows

  • Will ONLY pick up new windows
  • Used windows must be brought to the ReStore
  • Wood-framed windows NOT accepted
