Habitat for Humanity of Springfield: Mission and Values
Habitat for Humanity of Springfield is dedicated to eliminating substandard housing in Greene County, Missouri. As an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, we recognize that everyone—regardless of nationality, race or religion—in Springfield and Greene County deserves the comfort of safe, affordable, high-quality housing.
Habitat for Humanity is a Christian ministry founded on the belief that shelter from wind, rain and cold is a basic human need. To help reach our attainable mission, Habitat Springfield employs an open-door policy. We welcome volunteers, sponsors and Habitat community partners from all backgrounds.
Habitat Springfield, like Habitat for Humanity International, espouses the theology of the hammer. Our organization offers partnership based on common ground. We believe in bridging theological differences and, quite simply, putting love into action. Building homes for those who need shelter is an act of love not bound by religious differences.
Habitat for Humanity's mission statement is simple:
Seeking to put God’s love into action, Habitat for Humanity brings people together to build homes, communities and hope.
